The Rosa Belle Mangum Circle

The Rosa Belle Mangum Circle Was created in 1984 by a group of 6 young women looking for a circle that met in the mornings and offered baby sitting. The announcement & naming of this circle was made on July 15, 1984 at Mt. Sylvan United Methodist Church. We are named after Rosa Belle Mangum and continue to honor her living Christian example in all that we do.

Our circle is active in many areas. We began the tradition of giving New Testament Bibles to newborns at their baptism in 1985, and started the first annual Easter Egg Hunt at Mt. Sylvan in 1985 that also continues to this day. Our circle is also involved with Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) in serving meals and has an annual Mitten Tree at Christmas to help the homele ss of Durham. In the fall of the year our circle organizes the Silent Auction for the Fall Festival to help raise money for missions. And in all areas we support one another in our joys and our sorrows.

The Rosa Belle Mangum Circle meets on the 4th Thursday of every month at 7pm either in the homes of our members or at other sites as announced. We invite you to come join with us as we share our faith and grow in the love of Christ.
